Fayetteville School Superintendent announced his retirement

FAYETTEVILLE, AR — The Fayetteville Public Schools Superintendent Dr. John L Colbert has announced he will retire at the end of next school year, after serving the Fayetteville Public Schools for 43 years.

He made the announcement during his superintendent’s report to the Fayetteville Board of Education.

He was the district’s first African-American special education teacher, the first African-American principal, and the first African-American superintendent.
