Arkansas reports 237 new virus cases, 6 new deaths

Arkansas on Friday reported 237 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19.

Active cases increased by 49 to 1,892. The number of people hospitalized with the virus decreased by one to 152.

The state linked six more deaths to the virus, bringing the total to 5,692.

Another 23,066 vaccine doses were provided in the state. The number of people fully immunized increased by 13,716 to 604,225.

“My goal is to have one million shots in arms by next week,” Gov. Asa Hutchinson said. “Help us meet that goal. The doses are available to meet current demand, so don’t wait, and get your vaccine as soon as you can.”

The state logged 4,218 daily PCR tests and 639 antigen tests.
