Arkansas – For the first 25 minutes of LSU’s game at Arkansas on Saturday, it looked like the Tigers were poised to come away with a huge road win over the No. 20 Razorbacks.
Then, LSU fell apart.
The Razorbacks caught fire early in the second half, erasing a seven-point deficit, and went on to lead by as many as 21 points en route to handing the Tigers their second consecutive loss.
LSU freshman guard Cameron Thomas once again led the Tigers in scoring, with 25 points. Thomas had a strong all-around game, making 11 of his 19 shots from the field. Unfortunately, the rest of LSU’s team shot just 33% from the field, making just 19 of 57 attempts.
After the game, Thomas met with the media via Zoom and was asked what happened in the second half.
“Rebounding and us turning the ball over,” Thomas said, per Geaux247. It started the half off six for six, and they got a lot of offensive rebounds and a lot of fouls. Defense and rebounding.”
Thomas was also asked if Arkansas made any defensive adjustments at the half after LSU clearly controlled the game’s first 20 minutes.
“No. I don’t think so,” he said. “I feel like we missed a lot of open shots and our free throws, so we’ve got to work on that again. That’s it, really.”
LSU is back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Vanderbilt in Baton Rouge. The Tigers need to finish strong in their final two regular-season games before the SEC Tournament begins next week.
